Blackpool

We spent the entire month of May rehearsing every day in preparation to attend the Blackpool Dance Festival in Blackpool, England. I was on the Standard Medley Team and Travis was on the Latin Medley Team. Each team rehearsed a total of 3 hours each day. Since we moved to Pleasant Grove after school was out, and we only have one car, it meant we both were lucky enough to spend 6 hours a day in the Richards Building on campus. 3 hours dancing and 3 hours watching. However, in the end it was all worth it since both teams managed to take first place in their respective categories. The standard team took first out of 4 teams and the Latin team took first out of 8 teams. It was pretty exciting for us since the Blackpool Dance Festival is a BIG DEAL in the dance world. The theme for the standard medley was Americana and the Latin medley was Mystere (sort of a cirque du soleil idea).

Happy Late Birthday

Travis' birthday was about a month ago. We didn't really do anything special to celebrate because both of us had to work until 9 PM. However, i am very proud of my present to him this year. It's THE WORLD'S LARGEST GUMMY BEAR! I wish you all could have seen his face when he opened his present. Needless to say he loved it and has been toting it around with him slicing off pieces. Unfortunately, we didn't think to take a picture until he had already hacked into it (that how excited he was about it). but i think you can still get the idea of how big it is.

I almost forgot...

For those of you who haven't heard in March Travis and I won a competition and as a result we are the 2010 National Amateur American Smooth Champions. It was a really exciting weekend for us, especially since we had such tough competition this year. Here are a few pictures of us during the final in my new dress.
Here are some videos of us as well if you want to take the time to watch.

FINALLY!!!

The time has finally arrived!! In April Travis and I graduated from BYU. Travis received a bachelors in Spanish and i received one in Mathematics and we both minored in Ballroom Dance. It has taken me a really long time but i am happy to say that i finally made it. Neither of us wanted to walk so to celebrate we spent about 2 1/2 days in Idaho Falls partying with my family and then 2 1/2 days in Nampa partying with Travis' family. It was a really quick trip but still fun to see everyone. Now we have the fun job of figuring out what we are actually going to do with our lives... but i'll save that for another post.

Here are some pictures we had a friend take of us. Don't look too closely at our tassles, they say '09 on them. Since we didn't walk we didn't want to buy a cap and gown but we definitely wanted pictures. Luckily we have some friends that graduated last year and they were kind enough to let us borrow their caps and gowns.
